Haloom is a semi-soft unripened cheese, with a mild but quite salty flavor. It has the appearance of a rectangular block, folded in two. It is Cyprus' national cheese. It is very popular in the countries around the Mediterranean sea. Is was originally made with sheep milk, but it is also made now with cow's milk due to the high demand for this cheese.
